"We never consider ourselves 'finished.' Our reason for being is to think every day about how to make the guest experience more meaningful."

Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, the Managing Director steering Alma Resort Cam Ranh in Nha Trang, is a seasoned hospitality professional with extensive experience in the Asian market. He was drawn to the Alma Resort project by its grand ambitions. He has since turned the vision of making Alma not just a resort, but a fully-equipped "complete destination," into a reality.

Managing Director Herbert’s management philosophy can be summarized in three pillars: "Heartfelt warmth in service," "consistency in quality," and the "courage to constantly improve." Emphasizing that "true hospitality is ultimately about people," he prioritizes the emotional bond between staff and guests. This philosophy led to the remarkable achievement of Alma Resort being named the No. 1 resort in Southeast Asia in the Travel + Leisure 2024 World’s Best Awards.

He showed particular affection and interest in the Korean market. "Korean travelers have very high standards and value detail," Herbert noted. "To meet their expectations, we have made significant investments, such as placing Korean-speaking staff at key touchpoints and strengthening our Korean food menu." He emphasized, "Our goal is clear: to ensure no Korean guest feels uncomfortable requesting what they need or expressing themselves due to a language barrier." He added that they are actively considering the introduction of more digital tools to lower language barriers, beyond the current real-time communication system using WhatsApp.

He also expressed strong pride in Alma Resort’s "All-inclusive" package. "The 'freedom from cost'—not having to open your wallet for every meal or activity—provides an immense sense of liberation, especially in multi-generational family travel," Herbert stated firmly. "I hope more Korean guests realize they can enjoy Maldives-style all-inclusive luxury affordably here in Vietnam." He explained that this system, which includes gourmet dining at all restaurants and access to the water park, transforms the very quality of the trip beyond mere cost-effectiveness.

Looking ahead, Alma Resort plans to evolve further around two main axes: ‘Adrenaline’ (active programs) and ‘Wellness’ (healing of mind and body). This includes expanding adventure programs for those seeking active travel and strengthening meditation programs led by yoga masters. Furthermore, the resort plans to further refine its sustainable travel model through the ‘Alma Discovery Camp,’ where children connect with nature by caring for animals and planting seeds.

Finally, Managing Director Herbert shared a sincere message for Korean travelers:

"Cam Ranh, Vietnam, is a blessed land with sunny weather and clear seas. Alma Resort is fully prepared as a vessel to hold your precious time, and we cordially invite Korean travelers. From the moment you arrive, we will do our utmost to ensure that every family member—from children to grandparents—returns home with 'memories that make you want to come back.'"
