IU and Park Bo Gum's "When Life Gives You Tangerines" will be released in more than 190 countries around the world through Netflix.
Netflix announced on the 30th that "Foxtrot, starring IU and Park Bo Gum, and produced by 'My Mister' PD Kim Won Seok and 'When the Camellia Blooms' writer Kim Sang Chun, will be released on Netflix".
The Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" follows the adventurous lives of Ae-Sun(IU), a rebel born on Jeju Island, and Kwan-Sik(Park Bo gum), a man who is "indestructible". 'Pokssak Sogatsuda', which is a Jeju Island dialect that means 'thank you for your hard work', is expected to deliver an unforgettable story of Ae-Sun and Kwan-Sik set against the backdrop of Jeju Island.
IU, who has shown solid acting skills across genres in dramas such as "My Mister" and "Hotel Del Luna" and films such as "Broker" and "Dream," will be working with PD Kim Won-seok for the second time after "My Mister." IU's character, Ae-Sun, is a Jeju-born rebel who fights against her fate.
Park Bo Gum, who has been taking new steps with different characters every time, including the drama "Record of Youth," the movie "SEOBOK," and the musical "Let Me Fly," will play Kwan Sik, a hard-edged man who expresses himself through actions rather than words. Kwan-sik is a sincere man who has been raised from a young age with sincerity as his weapon, and he loves Ae-Sun with a single-mindedness and silence.
Moon So-ri, who has appeared in "Three Sisters," "Queenmaker," and "Race," and Park Hae-joon, who has shown his bold acting and distinct presence in "My Mister," "The World of the Married," and "12.12: The Day," play the older Ae-sun and Kwan-sik, respectively.
"When Life Gives You Tangerines" is made even more credible by PD Kim Won-seok, whose dramas "Misaeng," "Signal," and "My Mister" delicately portrayed the situations and emotions of the characters, and writer Shin Sang-chun, who has been loved for his unique human-scented stories in dramas "Baek-hee is Back," "Fight for My Way," and "When the Camellia Blooms," among others.
